Assistant Project Manager

Role Overview:

We are looking for a Construction Project Manager to join our growing team and help deliver our strong pipeline of projects. The ideal candidate will have broad understanding of construction and development projects. They will have an understanding of modular construction, specifically the delivery of groundwork packages and the nature of co-ordinating factory production with site based activity. Finally, the ideal candidate will be comfortable in preparing documents for clients and briefing clients on project progress. Training in company systems and process will be provided, and gaps in experience can be mitigated for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the construction projects, ensuring successful project delivery from RIBA stage 1 - 7.

  • Prepare project briefs and project execution plans deliver construction projects in line with the Capital Project Manual.

  • Collaborate closely with the design team to ensure all technical and design requirements are met.

  • Work closely with the commercial team to ensure that the project is being delivered to budget and project appointments, contracts, and cost plans are in place.

  • Collaborate with our planning team to ensure project programmes are up to date and co-ordinated. 

  • Liaise with third parties, including statutory undertakers, as required to deliver projects.

  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, resolve issues, ensure quality, and assure H&S standards.

  • Support sourcing of labour and materials for groundwork packages.  

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, statutory obligations, and environmental standards.

  • Prepare written reports on project progress, providing updates to the Operations Director and Clients.

  • Convene meetings, prepare agendas, chair meetings, and take meeting minutes.

  • Proactively manage the project team and co-ordinate activity.

Requirements:

  • A degree or HND in a relevant construction-related discipline (e.g., Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Surveying, Architecture, or similar).

  • Experience in managing construction projects, preferably in the modular housing or sustainable building sectors.

  • Strong knowledge of construction processes, project management tools, and software. 

  • Excellent leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team of professionals.

  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with a demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Good understanding of building regulations, health & safety standards, and sustainability practices.

  • Ability to build strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and contractors.

  • A proactive problem-solver with exceptional communication and negotiation skills.

  • A keen interest in sustainable design and construction practices.

  • CSCS Card.

  • Full UK driving license and willingness to travel.

  • Eligible to work in the UK.
