The proposal is for the redevelopment of an old garage block to provide housing of 8 x two-storey apartments.

The existing 12 spaces would also all be retained. Secured storage space for each dwelling and a bin storage area is also proposed.

All proposed homes would be ZED PODS volumetric, ultra-low energy dwellings, all with Gross Internal Floor Areas (GIFAs) above Nationally Described Space Standards (NDSS), built on top of a steel frame.

The steel frame construction enables the use of the land beneath the apartments for car parking.

The dwellings are simple modern modular homes designed in a visually interesting development in harmony with the existing flats. This together with the removal of an unsightly block of garages would enhance the appearance of the area.
